About the EVM Calculator
The EVM Calculator is a free, single-page web tool for computing all standard Earned Value Management metrics. It was built for project managers, cost engineers, and PMP candidates who need fast, accurate, transparent EVM math without ads, signup, or paywalls.
What it does
Enter four numbers — Budget at Completion, Planned Value, Earned Value, and Actual Cost — and the calculator instantly returns eight performance metrics: Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Variance (CV), Schedule Variance (SV), Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), Variance at Completion (VAC), and To-Complete Performance Index (TCPI). Every result shows the formula, a plain-English explanation, and a color-coded status indicator.
Why it exists
Most EVM calculators online are slow, hidden behind ads, or skip the formulas. This site exists to make EVM math instant, transparent, and educational. The full formula and interpretation are visible next to every result so the tool doubles as a learning aid for PMP exam preparation and project management training.
How it works
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server. There is no login, no tracking, and no data retention. Open the page, type your numbers, and read the results.

Sources and accuracy
The formulas implemented here follow the Project Management Institute's Standard for Earned Value Management and the PMBOK Guide. Every result on the calculator displays its formula in full so you can verify the math yourself. If you spot an error, please report it.
